My Story

Anchalee Theerapatporn owner of Pawz N Style

Hello my name is Anchalee Theerapatporn. I came to Canada in 2003 from Thailand, and for many years I worked long hours as a waitress. During this time in my life, I felt this is definitely not what I wanted to do. I kept thinking and asking myself, “What do I want to do”?

One day while living in Vancouver, I was walking on the beach and I saw an adorable golden retriever puppy. This cute puppy was running along the beach, smiling and greeting everyone on the beach. It was love at first sight for me! My heart just fell in love and I knew at that moment that I had found the answer to my question. I wanted to be with dogs and work with dogs. Someway, somehow, I knew this is what I was going to do.

In 2005 I made a big move in my life from Vancouver to Toronto and began my search for dog grooming schools. Finally, in March 2007 I enrolled and started school at Pets Beautiful and my journey began! Everything I learned at Pets Beautiful was fun, challenging and a great experience. Soon after my graduation in June 2007, I had a great opportunity to work with Pets Beautiful as a part time assistant groomer. During this time with Pets Beautiful, I had experiences with 3 other different grooming salons, but I knew this place was my destiny.

Anchalee's 3rd place grooming award

I felt a great pleasure working at Pets Beautiful. The owner Marnie Mathinson was always very supportive, and gave me opportunities to attend advanced private classes, seminars and competitions. During my time working at Pets Beautiful, my grooming skills steadily improved and I was able to learn many more technics from my colleagues.

As I mentioned before, I also attended seminars in both the U.S. and Canada. My travels have even taken me overseas to advanced grooming classes at the Starwood grooming school in Thailand. What an incredible experience that was for me! One of my proudest moments and achievements has been participating in grooming competitions. My first competition was in 2010. I received 1st place in the Poodle Class and 3rd place in the Terrier Class. This was a huge achievement for me and ever since that experience I love attending competitions as much as possible. It is such a great experience and it pushes me to learn and achieve more with my skills as a groomer.

Everyday is a learning experience and I feel thankful to my four legged friends that I have met and groomed at Pawz N' Style over the years. They are my good companions and I love them as my own.
